God, Me, and You

Matt. 22:37-40
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
God, Me and You

“God, Me and You” – this is a topic where we are going to learn our connection first to God, ourselves and other people.
In the beginning of time God is present. In Genesis Chapter 1 God created the heavens and the earth where God created all kinds of living things and non-living things within 6 days. At that moment, God made a connection to all what he made.

Connection - a relationship in which a person, thing, or idea is linked or associated with something else.
And we know that the connection is weak when there is no LOVE.
So how important is LOVE is?  Answer: Very important – 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
There is no profit in everything without LOVE, where we know that he who doesn’t know love doesn’t know God because God is LOVE.
So before looking the connection, let’s take a study about

God and his relation to man.
The unique relationship between God and man.

God to Man

1.    God is Sovereign – Exodus 23:17, 2 Samuel 7:22
A sovereign is a government.  This means that God is the ruler of mankind.  By definition, a sovereign makes, interprets, and enforces laws.

2.    God is King over all creation – 1 Timothy 6:15
As King and Lord, honor, worship, adoration, respect and obedience are His rightful due. They are not simply good ideas or things we should do.  He has the right to expect and insist on them.

Man to God

1.    Man was made for God – Proverbs 16:4, Revelation 4:11
God created all things including man just for His pleasure. God wants man to worship Him and follow his commandments.

2.    Receive dominion over all living creatures – Genesis 1:26-27, Psalms 8:6-8
God made man and woman with his image and likeness and gave them the dominion of all living creature.

So the connection at the beginning was
·         God is connected to man
·         Man is connected to God and all the living creatures,
·         And all living creatures are connected to God and man.
And their connection was Spiritual Connection.

God, Jesus and the sinners

John 3:16
 – God has a connection in this world through spirit, but after Adam and Eve sinned against God, the connection was lost. But when time passed there are some people born and manage to connect God through Spirit.
Ex: Moses, Samuel, David, Elijah and the Prophets mention in the bible.
So when Christ Jesus born it was a sign of God that He still loves His people. In other words God wants to make His connection to His people stronger.

Christ Jesus and His Relation to God (As an example to mankind)

Jesus to God

1.    Jesus was baptize – Matthew 3:13-15
2.    Jesus Prayed – Matthew 26:35

Jesus to Sinners

1.    Jesus is a Teacher, Preacher, Friend, Way, Truth, and Life, Healer, Councilor and many more.
God loves us unconditionally, Jesus was sent for our sin, so we are able to have a stronger connection or relationship with Him.

God, Me and You

1.    God and Me (Personal Relationship with God)
Love… Why Jesus said ‘LOVE’ in this verse? Or Moses in Deuteronomy 6:4? How about Serve the Lord your God with all your …. Why is it ‘LOVE’?
Well we know that Love makes the connection stronger... So that is why ‘LOVE’

So LOVE the Lord your GOD with:

a.    Heart – Matthew 12:34
One’s inner most character, feelings, or inclinations. It is the place of our body where emotion felt. Most of people says that the heart is the source of love but not scientifically proven.
b.    Soul – Psalm 103:1-5
The spiritual, rational and immortal substance in man, which distinguishes him from brutes; that part of man which enables him to think and reason, and which renders him a subject of moral government.
c.    Mind – Romans 12:2, Philippians 4:8
The part of a person that thinks, reason, feels and remembers.

Possible Hindrances

Unjust or cruel exercise of authority or power.

A persecution pertaining to nature or natural productions, or to material things, as opposed to things moral or imaginary.
e.    Social Persecution (influence)
It is the harassment of our social being; a discouraging action of our act.
It will affect our:

       Dignity
       Faith

2.    Me and You (For Living)

As the bible says that even God saw that it’s not good for a man to be alone in Genesis 2:18. Even the wisest king told it once that two are better than one (Ecc.4:9). So let us help one another as God wants us to love one another.

So living with brethren is harder than living as individual.

It needs:
More Effort, More Courage, More Strength, Humility, Time and Love.
